Growing Ladder Points

2008_01_17_pb%20kids%20growth.jpg

A faithful JamLegend user recently wrote to us asking: "My ladder points don't grow up... why?"

Ladder points are awarded for beating the computer.  When you choose "Play VS Computer," you'll be matched up against either Chrys or Roxanne, the two JamLegend bots.  You will earn ladder points by beating the bot, and how many you earn depends on how much you win by.  But be careful, because you'll lose ladder points if the bot beats you!

Why is this?  Many users did not like always having to face off against *Chrys or *Roxanne, because of the possibility of losing ladder points.  This was especially unfair when playing a new song for the first time.  So, we give you the option to keep the the game fun for those who want to play for ladder points and for those who want to play a song without being in a competition.

None of these changes affect your level (the number 10 below) or your XP (experience points). You'll still earn the same amount of XP per song whether you play alone or against a bot.  Hope that makes sense to everyone!

E-mails are Back Up

Just discovered a bug that was causing e-mails from JamLegend (duel, friend, comment notifications, etc) to not be sent for the past day or so. We just pushed a fix for that, so you will once again be up-to-date.

Welcome Rob 'The Intern' to the JamLegend Team!

We are excited to announce Rob (known on the site as Grithic) is joining the JamLegend team for the summer to help us out with all sorts of stuff. He is a master of all things musical and will be working hard to make sure JamLegend always has fun new content to play. Feel free to leave him a comment here or on his wall.

The Wiki Says Plug in Your GH/RB Guitars

Hai everyone!

You might have noticed that when you choose a song, there is a nice link to our JamLegend Wiki that tells you how to plug in your various Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitars into JamLegend. That's right ladies and gentleman, you get to rock out like the guys at Pleasant Software:

Huge thanks to Adriweb, THC Rack, and SmellOnTour for their initial help setting the wiki up. Feel free to create or help create some tutorials or translation as you see fit!

The LegendMaker Keyboard

Fritz from Germany has created a higher plane of enjoyment inventing the LegendMaker Keyboard, a custom JamLegend Keyboard.

He wrote us that he can make it work on "Insane level" and the keyboard has "already improved quite a bit using it."

Thanks for much Fritz for sharing with us. As always we could not run JamLegend without your help, so we feel free to submit us videos, pictures, anything you're doing with JamLegend.
