Introducing: My Library

Almost as soon as JamLegend opened its virtual doors, users were asking for the ability to use their songs in JamLegend.  Ask and you shall receive, dear JamLegends!  We launched My Library, which allows users to upload mp3s into their own private libraries, create BeatJam tracks, and makes the songs available to play in less than a minute. This is one library where you won't get shushed by a librarian and where rocking out is strongly encouraged!

There are three different account types:  Free, Pro, and ProPlus.
The Free account allows you to upload up to five songs.  Once a week, you can add one new song which will replace the oldest song in your library.

The Pro account allows you to upload up to 100 songs and it includes the ability to delete songs as often as you wish.  You will get a nifty Pro badge next to your username.  As if it couldn't get better, you can enjoy playing JamLegend without any ads!

The Pro Plus account allows you to upload up to 500 songs and it includes the ability to delete songs as often as you wish.  You will of course get a nifty Pro badge next to your username.  And of course, you can play JamLegend ad free!

You can upgrade to Pro and ProPlus accounts for as low as $1.99 to start. We'll be adding additional features to those accounts as well, so upgrade today to get access to great new features.

Get started now by clicking on My Library. Locate your mp3 files and choose the song you want to upload.  Confirm the song info and when your song is done uploading, you'll be able to play immediately! If you have your own MIDI files for songs, just point your cursor to the song name in your Library, and an up arrow icon will appear.

Users cannot play other private library songs that someone else owns. Nevertheless, if someone uploads the same song you have into their library, then  added to your Library, you can play the song in BeatJam or in Guitar!

As always, don't hesitate to e-mail us at feedback@jamlegend.com or post on the JamLegend GetSatisfaction forum if you have any questions  or comments.

I think it's time to let go, Andrew. MJ is gone D: And very well done on the library.
In my opinion, the Library is not part of the game and is only a means for people to have more music-based purchasing. And yet, you can not play guitar. I think that is something we would not have to do with JamLegend.
You virtually killed Jamlegend with this feature. Now most people play the library songs and track their own songs (even though they are not primally trackers) leaving the real trackers without plays for the Jamlegend all-public songs they charted with dedication.

Plus, Jamlegend helped launch a few band like Kill The Alarm, My Favourite Ennemies (can't really talk about a launch here, but a boost at least), Blue Judy and co. Now ? Well now, it's going to be hard for an artists to get famous since regular Jamlegend artists are not getting a lot of popularity. Except if they were famous before this feature (like Bamboo, IFD, Aygan, etc.).

Albeit this update is pleasant at some parts, it doesn't benefit the first Jamlegend.

nice picture..

What's a MIDI file?
A MIDI file is a file format used to track the songs for JamLegend. You can read about it here: http://fretsonfire.wikidot.com/creating-songs-with-midi-files
