Combining the DIY ethos of an indpendent act with the professionalism of a working band, Silent Descent, a septet from Dartford, UK, has climbed the ranks of unsigned acts to become king of the hill.  Their accolades to date would make any band, signed or unsigned, jealous.  Metal Hammer called them the “trance-metal juggernaut the world has been waiting for” and the revered Kerrang! Radio designated them the best unsigned band.  Their self-released album Duplicity was appreciated by an international audience, pushing the video for the title track to the top of The Pit’s viewer-voted charts above other metal acts with bigger budgets and slick videos.

Without a label breathing down their necks, Silent Descent was able to complete an album to their satisfaction with guitarist Tom Callahan at the production helm; the sound is massive and modern, but with a raw edge--unique and captivating to a wide audience of metal aficionados.  When they take their act out on the road, it’s all or nothing: strobes, lasers, and a unrelenting wave of confident energy push their live performances to the limit.

For a band without a designated PR machine like Silent Descent, it’s important to keep options open and search for new opportunities to connect with and find new fans.  Enter JamLegend, a new platform for Silent Descent.  Cal from the band told us, “JamLegend has gone down great with our fans, and has also taken over all our band practices as no-one plays their real instruments anymore.  We're glad to be on board."  In the time they have been on JamLegend, Silent Descent has collected around 19,000 plays and counting.  We’re embedding “Bring-In-Sanity” below for your gaming pleasure.  To find out more anout Silent Descent, please visit their MySpace page.  You can purchase Silent Descent’s Duplicy album via iTunes.
